The end of shift will generate your totals since the start of your shift, give you to amount that should be in your till and the amounts to be deposited.

-
To perform your end of shift go to your assigned till and click on the End of Shift button.
-
This will open up the End of Shift Form where you will need to count the physical cash and coins from your till/cash register.
- Once the total value of your till is counted enter it in the
Actual Closeout Cash
field on the form. - Depending on the amount of cash in your till and the expected cash the system has estimated you might have an overage or a shortage on your end of day.
-
Enter some notes if needed then click on the Save button to complete your end of day.
-
This will generate the report where you will be able to see a summary of your transactions for the day.
-
If you have a POS thermal printer connected and setup the End of Shift receipt will be automatically printed.
-
Once your receipt is printed your cash register will open.
-
The end of shift receipt has an area at the bottom that can be used to assign accountability by having the employee and the manager sign the receipt.
Overage Shortage¶
On the final end of day receipt you will have an Overage Shortage calculation. This calculation is based on the following:
- Expected Closeout Cash: this is calculated by the system and it's based on the transactions that were made during the period of time the till was assigned to the user.
- Actual Closeout Cash: this is the total cash value that was in your till/cash register at the time the end of shift report was generated.
- This value is manually counted by the user who's performing the end of shift.
- Overage Shortage = (Actual Closeout Cash - Expected Closeout Cash)
Actual Deposit¶
On the final end of day receipt you will have an Actual Deposit calculation. This calculation is based on the following:
- Actual Closeout Cash: this is the total cash value that was in your till/cash register at the time the end of shift report was generated.
- This value is manually counted by the user who's performing the end of shift.
- Overage Shortage = (Actual Closeout Cash - Expected Closeout Cash)
- Opening Float Amount: this is the total cash that was in the opening till and entered as the till's starting float amount.
- This amount is manually counted by the user at the beginning of their shift.
- Actual Deposit = (Actual Closeout Cash +- Overage Shortage - Opening Float Amount)
Note
- The Opening Float Amount is not included into the final deposit amount calculation.
- The opening float amount should stay in the till stored away in a safe at the end of your day.
